Climb Snowdon (1085m) the adventurous way via the exposed knife-edged ridge of Crib Goch (923m).

We provide you with the opportunity to summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the highest mountain in the British Isles, outside of Scotland under instruction. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will advise you on techniques for safe movement on steep ground on ascent and descent.

Scrambling routes selected are subject to prevailing weather conditions. In particular, Crib Goch is a serious undertaking and in adverse weather conditions other scrambling routes will be substituted.

Classic Grade 1 Snowdon Scrambles

Rope protection will be used where appropriate. At the start of the day your guide will review your current skills, experience and aspirations. Feedback will be provided at the end of your day to assist you in developing your scrambling skills further.

• The Traverse of Crib Goch a Grade 1, 3 Star classic. Scramble along this awe-inspiring, knife-edged and pinnacled ridge, then continue to the summit of Snowdon via Crib Y Ddysgl and its summit, Garnedd Ugain (1065m).
• Y Gribin and the East Ridge is a Grade 1, classic. A notable rocky spur, the route scrambles up two distinct ridges. The rocky East Ridge leads directly to the summit of Snowdon.
• Traverse of Lliwedd (898m) a Grade 1 Classic. Easy scrambling up broad-backed ridges, with wonderful views across the Snowdon Massif and across to Crib Goch. We summit East Peak and continue scrambling on this lovely rocky crest to the summit of West Peak, descending the north-west ridge to the col of Bwlch Cilau and cross the col to Bwlch y Saethau. From this point we ascend to the summit of Snowdon.

Previous Experience/Fitness

Summer hill walking experience is essential. A head for heights is necessary. A reasonable level of fitness will ensure you get the most out of your day.

Equipment

You will need clothing and footwear that is appropriate for mountain walking and scrambling.
