Ascending Snowdon via the Watkins path and the weather never lifted!
Adventure Holidays, Mountain Challenges, Private Guiding, Snowdonia, WalkingApproaching the top of the Watkin path
Jelena and Danica had a hard time walking up the Watkins path on the south side of Snowdon in bad weather. Jelena had organised this as a challenge for a charity. She had set herself a great challenge as the top of the Watkins path is hard going particularly in poor weather. Jelena kept pushing on and summited Snowdon by one of the most awkward routes. Well done Jelena a great achievement because the whole day was not easy!

Advanced Navigation Course
Corporate, Navigation and Map Reading, SnowdoniaLearning to walk on a bearing across featureless ground
During September I am running an Advanced Navigation Course. This deals with steep complex mountainous ground contour interpretation. We look at using natural features to find out through this type of ground where a compass and timings are less useful and efficient. This also leads to good route finding using the gullies and ridges to navigate for you. Contact me for more details Joe at Mountaineering Joe.
