Mountaineering

Mountaineering in the rugged beauty of the spectacular mountain scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales and the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland, are where the Mountaineering Joe courses, guiding and instruction activities take place.

Our patient and friendly approach will make introducing you to new techniques and skills easy to follow. With a logical progression, you will be able to develop your skills and competence, gaining confidence in your new found abilities.

All courses cover safety, access, conservation, environmental and impact issues similar to the syllabus of Plas y Brenin courses (PyB) but much more personal and adaptable to your personal experience. We make the most of the prevailing weather conditions (knowing that the British weather can be unpredictable).

We believe that a small group size is important and will provide the best learning experience. All courses are on an ‘instruction’ basis only and delivered by an experienced and qualified Winter and Summer Mountain Leader. NOTE: We do not provide accommodation, but may be able to advise on local facilities.

Mountaineering Joe offers a range of courses to suit a wide range of abilities and designed to develop your mountaincraft skills.

ROCK CLIMBING
Get close up and personal on rock faces – improve your existing climbing skills and learn to lead climb. You may have experience on indoor climbing walls and want to take up the challenge of climbing outside on natural rock, an all together different experience! Our ‘Indoor Wall to Outdoor Rock’ climbing course will take you there.
