Lindsey and Dylan looking relaxed having just summited Carnedd Dafydd

We had a great out walking on the Carneddau. Lindsey and Dylan did a magnificent and long horse shoe walk around the Carnedd mountain range. Starting out by rock scrambling up the east ridge of Pen yr Ole Wen and summiting on Pen ye Ole Wen, then on to Carnedd Dafydd and finally the second highest mountain in Snowdonia Carnedd Llewelyn. We continued across to Bwlch Eryl Farchog and back down to the valley. Walking in freezing temperatures and very very cold winds, wind chill being -15c, Lindsey pushed through to complete the walk in a good time. Most impressive!

Lindsey and Dylan walking in Snowdonia on the Glyders. Lindsey wanted to walk the plateau but the Snow had come in a few days before so it turned to be Lindsey’s first winter mountain walk and she handled it with no problems. This is all preparation for the Welsh 3000s in the summer which I think she will handle it with ease! Excellent preparation Lindsey!

Impressive routes about the 5+ grade in Echo Valley

The Echo Valley in the Costa Blanca is an excellent place to develop leading on real Rock. It is one of the most impressive valleys in the area having a good range of routes in the lower grades to develop leading outdoors. The valley is excellent to climb in during the winter being sheltered and catches the winter sun.

An excellent day rock scrambling over Crib Goch . Misty but with low winds. Mark looked very confident as he flew across the exposed ridge! An excellent day.

Gaz polishing off the final overhangA weeks climbing in Spain on the Costa Blanca. We climbed at Calpe, enjoying the main west face Peñón de Ifach on the route Diedro UBSA. 10 pitches of pure exposure. The aim was to get to the top before the sun hit us. So we started the route before dawn and just got to the last pitch before the sun hit us! A mixture of bolts and trad and a totally varied route, corners, caves, abs cracks and slabs just to mention a few! Beautiful view down to the coastline
