Multi pitch rock climbing in Snowdonia. Learning to lead trad on Rock. Sometimes it’s not the actual climbing that holds back for trad climbing but setting up of the belay in the appropriate manner to avoid tangles and allow things to run smoothly. Running through your rope techniques and stance organisation on belays is a good way of feeling confident to climb on Rock and increase your grade. Multi pitch rock climbing with Mountaineering Joe

Rock scrambling in Snowdonia. Despite the bad weather at the weekend Kevin and I had a great time Rock scrambling in Cwm Idwal on the route North West Face on the Saturday and the sun on the East face of Tryfan. We climbed around Bastow Buttress and the Nor Nor area. Kevin was practicing advanced rope techniques for scrambling. The ability to move but safely over steep ground is great training not only for rock scrambling in the UK but also for training for the Alps. Rock scrambling with Mountaineering Joe.

Walking in Snowdonia on Tryfan. Walking on one of the best mountains in Snowdonia. Tryfan is the a mountain where you cannot simply walk it without scrambling at some point.. a true mountain! Robert and Ellis had a great time on the North ridge. Ellis is a great mountaineer. He is only seven? (if I remember correctly) he climbed the mountain without a care in the world telling his dad to keep up! An excellent day out. Search for the mountains Ellis no matter what the distance!
