A good day practicing navigation on 50s walking out the back of Cwm Tryfan

Mountain leader (ML) Preparation on ther map scale 1:50. We spent the day walking about the Tryfan area navigating on the 1:50 scale. This is where contour interpretation is particularly valuable. A great day out walking up the end of Cwm Tryfan and around to Llyn Caseg-fraith taking the Braich y Ddeugwm ridge back down into the valley. A good day of ML preparation on the 1:50 scale.

Jelena and Danica had a hard time walking up the Watkins path on the south side of Snowdon in bad weather. Jelena had organised this as a challenge for a charity. She had set herself a great challenge as the top of the Watkins path is hard going particularly in poor weather. Jelena kept pushing on and summited Snowdon by one of the most awkward routes. Well done Jelena a great achievement because the whole day was not easy!

Walking in Snowdonia on the Carneddau east range. We walked up the Clogwyn Maldy and on to the ridge and summited on Foel Grach via the Melynllyn and Dulyn reservoirs. We had Panoramic view from the summit of Foel Grach and saw some Wild horses on the Carneddau . An excellent day out with Mountaineering Joe
