Croeso (welcome) to Mountaineering Joe
I am Joe Begley and the enjoyment of the outdoors has taken me all over the world, throughout the seasons, to walk, scramble and climb. I am professional and highly motivated in everything I do, passionate about getting people out there, introducing people of all ages and abilities to the mountains and helping you to fulfil your personal ambitions.
I live on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, with my wife Sandra. We have fabulous views of the Snowdonia mountain range from our home. My location gives me great access to the Snowdonia National Park and the Isle of Anglesey coastal path.
My interest in climbing and mountaineering started when I was a boy and I now have over 30 years experience in the mountains.
Over the years I have climbed and walked the hills and mountains of the UK and Ireland, and enjoyed many trips abroad (including The Alps, The Dolomites, Yosemite National Park and China). A particular favourite destination is the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain.
In addition, I hold a current Rescue Emergency Care (REC) First Aid Certificate. I am an accredited course provider of the National Navigation Award Schemes (NNAS), Bronze and Silver Awards.
My professional memberships include: Mountain Training Association (MTA), The British Mountaineering Association (BMC), the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and The Climbers’ Club of Great Britain (CC)
If I do not respond immediately to your enquiries, it is because I will be out in the mountains. Please leave a message and I will get back to you. You can contact me using the general enquiry form on the website.
